How to Make a Good LSA Web Portfolio

  1. Go to https://students.weebly.com/signup
  2. Create an account
  3. Record and save your username password! We will not have these.
  4. Create a website
    1. Weebly is intuitive and easy to learn.
    2. Use a Subdomain of Weebly.com, it’s free!
    3. Use each other to trouble-shoot.
    4. Pick whatever theme you’d like and personalize it
  5. You MUST have an “about me” tab. This page MUST include
    1. A photo
    2. A good, detailed description of your educational and career goals
    3. A section on your role and experience in the LSA
    4. Are a new freshman or a well-seasoned junior?
    5. What had been your favorite part or what are you most looking forward to?
    6. Include any other content you chose under a divider.
  6. MAKE SURE ALL YOU PAGES ARE HIDDEN FROM SEARCH ENGINES. Select the page, go to SEO settings, and select "Hide from search engines" as the bottom
  7. You MUST have one tab for each unit, under the appropriate course tab. Freshman will just have unit headers, while upperclassman will have individual headers for PBS, HBS, MI, etc...
  8. Follow your instructor’s directions regarding what to include.
  9. Include images of all models, posters, experiments.
  10. Upload every PowerPoint, Concept Map, report and paper.
  11. Upload videos as requested or as available.
  12. You will be asked by your instructor to occasionally include self-assessments along with a project or paper. Follow their directions if so.
  13. Include any other content you chose for each unit under a divider.
  14. Here is an example: http://mountjoyportfolioexample.weebly.com
  15. Click Publish
  16. Choose your URL
  17. Follow directions and create a good visual representation of your achievements in the LSA
