So in our next two meetings, things are definitely getting more intense. The deadline for our report to the EDC and Chamber is getting closer fast, so we will have three meetings in pretty rapid succession this month to keep working on our goals. The line is hard to draw between planning and implementation, and we are having to figure out where our job starts. We have to think about some intermediate steps to set the goals, but yet another team will truly be in charge of implementing our ideas. So as we keep working, the question still remains. What do we want Owensboro to look like in 50 years?
In this meeting of Vision 2065, we started out discussing about the future goals we brainstormed; and we clarified some of the meanings of the goals. Some of the goals were about everyone having access to healthcare, eradicating hunger, eliminating the use of cars, and improving the environment as a whole. We discussed about these goals, and we concluded that some of the goals could be combined or tweaked, which we would do more of in the next meeting. We also talked about where these meetings were going in the future, and how our job is to only come up with ideas to improve health in the future, not actually enact on it but present our ideas to the chamber of commerce and to the other groups who will all work to enact on it.
